Professor Nabila Bouatia-Naji was the winner of the second edition of the CDM Award for many reasons that place her as an international reference in research linking female genetics and cardiovascular disease. She currently focuses her work on the study of atypical vascular pathologies with a high prevalence in women, mainly fibromuscular dysplasia and spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD).

With her daily work, Bouatia-Naji seeks to identify the exact biological mechanisms that are less efficient for women and thus help guide treatments to match their particular biology. This is called PRECISION MEDICINE and could be considered the basis for more effective and precise heart treatments in the future.
