Dra. Nabila Bouatia-Naji

• Research Director at the French Institute for Medical, Basic and Health Research (INSERM) since 2019 where she leads team 3 PARCC: Genetics for understanding the pathophysiology of arterial disease.

• Director of the ERC team on Genetics and Functional Genomic Studies of Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) and Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) from 2017 to 2022.

• Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Science and Technology of Lille (France).

• PhD in Human Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lille.

•Winner of the 2016 “Young Investigator Award of the International Conference on Human Genetics’ of Kyoto (Japan) for her study on genetics of Fibromuscular Dysplasia.

• Finalist for the 2014 AHA Functional Genomics and Translational Biology (FGTB) Young Investigator Award for a genetic study of mitral valve prolapse.

• ‘Great achievements in the field of biology’ award from the French Academy of Sciences.

• Speaker at national and international conferences (Mayo Clinic, Mount Sinai Hospital NY, European Society of Cardiology).

• Member of the Board of Directors of the Association ‘Femmes et Sciences’, to promote scientific careers among female students and support women scientists in leadership.

• Member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine, Paris Descartes University.

• Recipient of research grants from the French Cardiology Federation, the Heart Foundation, the Medical Research Foundation, the French National Agency, the Government of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais Region and the French Diabetes Society.
